Hello All
Winter is definitely here, but at Acorn, you could be forgiven for thinking it's Spring.
New ideas are taking root, new products are sprouting and our dealers are coming into full bloom. What an exciting time.
It is easy to be motivated on a new project or idea, the trick is to stay motivated over time. We need to set new challenges for ourselves , to see things "out of the box". Do "what if" exercises. E.g.: If I sold for X rand this month, what will I get? How can I get more customers? The good old fashioned "Tupperware" style party at home is a good way to go. It is relaxing and you meet new people. Let it be known that all guests who attend, will get a little something, not only the host. Remember, in business, you need to spend money to make money, so make sure you have a small marketing budget built in.
Have a book where everyone can write down their details, so you can make them part of your data base. Get the birthdates of their children. That’s a great opportunity to put together a "birthday special". You can also then keep them advised of specials.
What is nice about "Acorn" is the products are fun. I've really tried but I cannot get excited about dish washing liquid. Our products are very visual. The colours are great and the textures interesting. Mix blue & yellow together and you get ........! Right. Do a demo, people love to watch action, even if it is only water changing colour.
Then we have our sister range, Risso. Why should the kids have all the fun? We can enjoy our Marula Foam Bath or Marula Shower Gel, and then smear ourselves with Body Butter. What bliss! Promote these general use items when you do a demo. Many of our ladies are now using our "Risso" range of face products and really enjoy them. Its great when we are told "your skin looks so good!”. It is true that we function better when we feel good and we really feel good on "Risso".
One of my favourites is our "Simply Oil" It can be used from head to toe, and I do. It is fantastic as a skin tonic during winter. Give it a try, it is one of our best kept secrets.
To demonstrate how easy it is to sell "Acorn", Scott, my grandson of 7, took some of "mommies products" as he calls them, to a friends house. He came back R138.00 richer and beaming from ear to ear. What a natural salesman. He uses the products, he explained what they do, and told his friends they need them. Way to go, Scott!
For all our new members, please go to www.acornkids.com - Member Area - News and read the March edition of Margerett's Memo, which includes the very basics of Network Marketing. Of course, if you are very keen, go into the "news" section and read them all. (Click Here to go to the March Memo)
It is true that genuine excitement about your product can overcome nerves & shyness. Find one product that really "does it for you" and start showing and talking about it. You will be well on your way without realizing it.
You will find:
We are a relaxed company . We put a lot of thought into our products. We produce the best quality. (made in our Cape Town factory). We take pride in Acorn and are always making improvements in systems, etc. (you now get an SMS with tracking details). Our people are important to us!
June 20th is FATHERS DAY and I could not resist the following poem from Helen Steiner Rice.
Fathers are Wonderful People
Fathers are wonderful people, too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises as often as we should.
For, somehow, Father seems to be the man who pays the bills,
While Mother binds up little hurts and nurses all our ills.
And Father struggles daily to live up to his Image,
As protector and provider, and "hero of the Scrimmage"
And perhaps that is the reason we sometimes get the notion,
That Fathers are not subject to the thing we call emotion.
But if you look inside Dads heart, where no one else can see
You’ll find he's sentimental and as soft as he can be
But he's so busy every day in the gruelling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff to his partner and his wife.
But Fathers are just WONDERFUL in a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments and accolade of praise,
For the only reason Dad aspires to fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him and bring them happiness
And like our Heavenly Father, he’s a guardian and a guide,
Someone we can count on, to be always on our side!
THANK YOU, DAD
Margerett
