Margerett's Memo

July 2010

Hello Girls & Guys,

A survey done recently in Britain showed two thirds of British women are "completely bored" with their lives and wished they could drive to the airport & get the first plane out. A lack of variety in their routine, a limited social life and pressures at work are said to be the main problems. 70% of the 3000 woman interviewed said lack of money was a big issue. Women appear to have lost the get - up - and - go to try something different. 90% said they would be less bored if they could be more spontaneous. 50% said a haircut and makeover would be fantastic, but most of them lack the confidence to make these changes. How sad!

What would you like to do, if you had the confidence? Try a new sport or exercise. Have that make over ! Do some charity work. How could you be more flexible and spontaneous? I know it is not easy. We all have certain things to do at regular times. After all, we could never leave little Johnny standing in the rain, after school, while we indulge ourselves.

An idea might be, in summer getting up earlier than the rest of the family & having a brisk walk or a quick work out. Put on a dancing CD & give it stick. Jodie, my grand-daughter does this to Mama-Mia, & don't let anyone get in her way! For myself, my brain always works better after some physical activity & at 60+ I need all the help I can get.

Would you like to be more adventurous in your dressing and not sure what colours suit you? Buy a few cheap, colourful scarves & wear a different one everyday, around your neck, near your face. You will soon know which colours suit you by peoples comments. Then go & buy a top or jacket in that colour. That money will not be wasted! Are you stuck in black pants but feel like a change? Buy a slimline black skirt(not to tight), black pantihose & shoes. The skirt to stop just below your knee, at the slimmest part of your leg. You could be well on your way to having a make over with no pain. Do you always wear your hair down? Put it up & wear a pretty pair of earrings. Even little changes can make us feel good! If you have any style questions, just email me, mem@acornkids.com & I will gladly assist.

Now, we all have pretty strong ideas of what we don't want or don't like, but things we do want are generally hazy. Because they are hazy, we will not get them. Our brain, and the universe, likes us to be specific. We cannot attract to us what we want if we can't be specific.

I am not going to go into detail but I want to wet your appetite.

How to Visualise:
1. Define your goal - be as clear as possible.
2. Create a sensory experience - In the present tense and using the form "I".
3. Repeat, repeat & repeat - play the scene in your mind.
4. Acknowledge your success - don't be surprised if your goal changes along the way!

To learn more, please buy the latest Fairlady (July 2010). They have an article "The Power of Visualisation" See it - Believe it - Achieve it, on page 54. Buy it and give it a try, I dare you!

In closing, a few words about Soccer ( in case you have not had enough). It appears South Africa has so far done a great job in hosting the World Cup. Well done SA! Our team did well and they had good team spirit. (I am not an expert, just an observer). I am proud of them even though we did not get to the finals. Some of the great soccer countries have gone home early, including, (dare I say it) England!

Anyway, my SA flag is staying on my car until the world has gone home. One thing for sure, The World Cup will be a talking point for years to come!

Member of Note

I get so excited when our new members take off like a rocket.
One such rocket, & our Member of Note for July, is . . . .

Ester van Niekerk

Ester joined on 30.5.2010 & is part of Madelein Barnards team. Madelein put her name forward, as she has been greatly impressed by Ester. In one month Ester has recruited & had multiple sales. She is very cheerful & greatly excited by what she is doing. She is forever asking questions, which as we know, is a great way to learn.
Well done Ester & keep up the good work!

Don't forget, send me your "Member of Note" to mem@new.co.za

Website Problems

We apologise for the technical problems experienced during June with our Main and Back-Office websites. This was caused by our service provider changing hosts, and was entirely beyond our control. Everything now seems to be back to normal. Regards - Robert Macfarlane.
