Suenette that is a brilliant idea, including buying and selling in her play time.

As a working and loving mum, I do my level best to make sure that my whole family has a healthy diet packed with lots of vitamins that are not only great for them health-wise, but also ensure that they have glowing, healthy skin. The thing is, you can eat everything that you should eat for a healthy skin, but the daily contact with sunlight and air pollution means that we actually need a little help with an extra dose of antioxidant-boosting Vitamins C & E at the very least.
This is exactly why I love the Acornkids Gentle Day Cream: not only is it packed with Vitamins C & E, but the Shea and Cocoa Butters give it a luxuriously soft, velvety feel that really rehydrate and nourish your skin (which is awesome for the dry winter months coming up!) The cucumber extracts mean that it soothes my kids’ skin if they’re a little sunburnt and is great for kids with excema. What’s even better is that my whole family can use it every day. So if we’re going on a family holiday where space is an issue, I just pop one cream into my handbag for the whole family to use!
I really do recommend this cream as an everyday moisturiser for your whole family, I know that my kids love it! So to have it delivered right to your door, just click this link http://goo.gl/KDo1na to order it right now and receive your 15% discount (valid 23/3 – 29/3)
PS, I’ve found that the Gentle Day Cream works a lot better if your face if clean after using something like the Acornkids Gentle Face Wash. So if you’d like to pop that into your cart with your Cream, just click here http://goo.gl/x0uylQ

Considering that every parent with small kids is a huge
lover of play dough, the decision to add our own Push ‘n Pull Putty to our
special Acornkids range was easy. (Especially considering that I was one of
those parents at the time!)
This non-toxic malleable dough has given my kids hours of entertainment over
the years. My best was that I could just pop a tub or two into my handbag and
then bring them out at a restaurant or a friend’s house to let my kids
entertain themselves. Only a mom can understand the true pleasure of something
I really love (and I think that most mom’s will agree) that
Push ‘n Pull Putty gives my kids so much more than just something to entertain
themselves while I run my errands. It taught them about colour awareness and
mixing as they mushed the 8-coloured squishy dough together through their
fingers. I also saw a huge improvement in their fine motor and creativity
skills as each masterpiece became more and more defined with practice. If something
didn’t work out as planned, they would just mush it together again and start
from scratch. This was a really great confidence booster that allowed my kids
to really push their creativity and skill as they knew that it didn’t have to
be permanent. Having said that, the ones that they are really proud of were
photographed so that we can keep them forever.
Push ‘n Pull Putty is available in product sets of our
Primary and Funky Colour sets, or all 8 colours in one pack! They are great
gifts for friends or, like I did, just to have on hand if the boredom kicks in!
Even better, you can use the left over cookie cutters from your Soap Putty and
cut out shapes with your kids. To order yours today and get your special 10% discount (valid 16/03 -21/3), please follow this link to
buy online http://goo.gl/wn3lZ4
NB: The shape cutters you collect when buying our Soap Putty are also perfect to use with the Push n Pully Putty.

Angel Powder is one of the original products in our range and,
after all these years, it’s definitely still a firm favourite in our Acornkids
Angel Powder was my first choice when it came to introducing
my kids to the wonders of colours and colour mixing. Their amazement as their
bath water changed from clear to blue, red or yellow never got old, and letting
them experiment and learn how to make a Barney or a Shrek bath (by mixing red
and blue or yellow and blue) was just such a great way to teach them about
primary and secondary colours. My daughter also has sensitive skin and the Angel Powder is perfect for sensitive skin and children with eczema.
Side note – for really young kids, try and pour the powder
into their hands or into smaller containers before letting them add it to the
water; giving them the whole tub often leads to its entire contents being
dumped into the water!
Since then, we’ve become a little more creative. By mixing
Angel Powder with a drop water, we make really great finger paints, we fill
vases with the coloured water at parties for fun-coloured flower arrangements, and
on hot days we make coloured ice cubes which look amazing as they melt in the bath
or splash pool! Speaking of hot days, the Sodium Bicarbonate in Angel Powder
makes the water silky smooth which is great soothing agent for your kids’
Angel Powder really is an amazing and affordable gift (it’s
definitely my go-to for birthday parties). It’s fun and versatile, won’t stain
your surfaces and its non-toxic ingredients mean that it’s safe for kids and
pregnant mums to enjoy every day!
If you haven't got any in your bathroom cupboard at at the moment, just click this link now http://goo.gl/jY6G0g , and buy our Acornkids set of Blue, Red and Yellow Angel Powder at a special 15% discount. Offer valid from the 09/03 - 15/03.

In my home, we have two tweens (for those of you not up-to-date with the lingo, this means that I still have a year or two left before facing those terrifying teenage years!) So naturally, this is the age where we start talking about skin care. And just to give you a heads up – boys seem to be much more interested in this part of their personal hygiene than when we were growing up!
My son is a big fan of the Acornkids Gentle Face Wash. He uses this gel every day in the shower and loves the fresh smell that it leaves on his skin. We’ve both noticed how it’s really helped to nourish and soothe his skin while cleaning away any pimple-causing impurities… and we all know what a confidence boost clear skin can give you, no matter what your age!My daughter, on the other hand, is absolutely in love with the Face Refresher. (And if I’m honest, so am I!) There’s nothing better than spritzing your face with the really gentle and refreshing water-based toner on a hot and sticky night… we both find it very cooling and calming.
What’s really great about both of these products is that they’re packed with cucumber and chamomile extracts. Chamomile is a one of the best natural skin soothers which gets rid of any red marks and generally just makes your skin feel fresher and smoother. Cucumber gives your skin that beautiful glow that lets you look and feel refreshed. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t want glowing skin?
To be completely honest, even though these products are meant to be used by kids and teenagers, I also use them when I get too busy to order more of my Akina products. And I really enjoy them too (especially the Face Refresher which also removes the last little bits of makeup before I go to sleep).
So if you and your kids aren’t already using the Acornkids Gentle Face Wash and the Face Refresher, just follow this link to give them a try right now. I’m sure that you’ll love them!

I want to let you in on a little secret… I still play with
some of the Acornkids products every day! Snow Dough is one of them as it doubles
as an amazing stress ball. I love absent-mindedly playing with it while I’m
working or brainstorming new ideas. There is just something completely soothing
about the texture of this incredibly bubbly yet gooey dough! If you haven’t
yet, you should definitely try it. But that’s not all that originally drew me
to this strangely textured substance.
When looking into ways to teach my kids about colour
awareness, I knew that I needed something more than just mixing paints. I
wanted something that was like a brand new experience to them every time they
used it, and that allowed them to be creative is so many more ways than
painting a picture.
Snow Dough was (and still is) not only a great sensory
experience for my kids, but it is so incredibly versatile that it allowed them
to personalise absolutely everything from mugs to picture frames to building
tiny little cities on my dining room table. No two creations made out of this
fun red, blue, green yellow and white dough were ever the same! What really
fascinated me is that, they older my kids got, the more finesse they had in
their Snow Dough artwork. And this is when I really saw the value in helping my
kids build their fine motor skills through such a creative and versatile
So to get your hands into this great gooey dough (and for
your kids too, of course!), just follow this link right now to order it to be
delivered straight to your front door.

Who’s a fan of sandpits? I know I most certainly am. I
remember watching my kids marvel at the sensation of sand slipping through
their fingers, the look of pure joy and deep-rooted pride when they unveiled
their majestic hand-sculpted castles (or, let’s be honest, the mound of sand
with twigs sticking out of it). There’s something truly great about watching
your kids as they allow themselves to become completely lost in their own
Now who’s a fan of the stains, dirt and mess that generally
and very quickly follows this moment of wonderment? Definitely not me! So when
I came across this Kinetic Sand, I knew that I just had to add it to our
Acornkids collection. And believe me, my kids went crazy when they first saw it
This is amazing sand is much more fluid than normal sand, it
kind of feels like cotton candy, or perhaps what I imagine holding a cloud
would feel like. What I love most about Kinetic Sand, is that its fluid, it
moves, you ...
As a working mum to two beautiful children, the time that I get to spend with my kids is more precious to me than their weight in gold! This is why I take my every spare second to connect and fun have together. And what better time to do this than during bath time?
Kaleidofoam is by far one of our favourite ways to wash in the bath. This really fun-feeling, coloured foam soap means that I never have to beg and plead for my kids to wash their little bodies. They love to ‘colour’ themselves in with Kaleidofoam from head-to-toe and, believe me, this never gets old! (Oh, and don’t worry… you’re not going to be sending your kids to school dressed as Smurfs, it washes right off with water!)
Depending on how they feel on the day, my kids choose to colour themselves in either red, blue, green or yellow, or a combination of all four on different parts of their bodies which is by far their favourite! This not only helps me to teach my kids about colours and body awareness, but also builds their gross motor skills as we bounce the foam balls around the water or giggle as they build bigger noses or brightly coloured beards. And what’s even better, the non-toxic ingredients and pH balance of Kaleidofoam means that I never have to worry about it irritating their skin.
Like I said, Kaleidofoam is a firm favourite in our home. If you’d like to read more about it or even buy it online, just follow this link right now http://goo.gl/29xYjc and we can send it straight to your front door for the never-ending fun with yours kids to begin!
Last week we chatted about the Social skills that our little
ones need to develop before being able to sit comfortably in a classroom to
concentrate on their work. (If you haven’t read it yet, please click here[KH1]
to follow the link and don’t forget to leave a comment!) This week, we’re going
to tackle another misconception which is their Physical Development. Luckily,
this is something that we can all work on during the Summer Holidays with our
Most of us look at our little ones and think that, because they’re roughly the
same height and size of an average 6 year old, they must be sufficiently
physically developed. But this is actually not the best indicator to check.
Rather check out for these pointers to see if your kids are
lacking in their physical development:
They battle to site still or upright, especially
over a longer period of time.
They are fidgety and battle to concentrate on
one activity at a time.
They move their tongues while cutting or drawing.
They press too hard on the paper and maybe break
Now you may be wondering what on earth concentrating and
fidgeting has to do with your kids’ Physical Development, but this is because
their Physical School Readiness skills are actually also very closely linked to
your kids’ muscle tone, as well as their fine motor skills.
If your kids battle to finely control their little fingers
before they start school… they’re going to battle to do all sorts of activities
like writing and crafts.
If their muscle tone is so poor that they can’t sit still
for long periods of time… they’re really going struggle to focus on and finish
one activity. And if they’re not doing the activities in class, they’re not
going to learn that skill that the teacher has planned! See the problem here?
Now before you start stressing that your kids are not
physically developed before the New Year, growing your kids’ Physical
Development skills is actually pretty easy. Now is actually a perfect time of
year to focus on developing your kids’ Physical skills because of the glorious
Summer Holidays starting! It just requires a bit of patience and energy from
your side too like:
Rolling or throwing a ball.
Building blocks like Lego.
Any activities that require movement like running,
crawling or skipping.
Any activities where their heads are lower than
their hands – like a puzzle on the floor.
Once again, I hope that you have found this post useful!
Please don’t forget to comment below. I’d love to hear from you! What outdoor
activities have you got planned with your kids these holidays? Next week we’ll
focus on a couple that will keep your kids entertained for hours!

To kick off our Positive Parenting blog, I’d like
to tackle a question that pops into every parent’s head (at least once if not a
million times) before taking the next really exciting yet equally terrifying milestone
of ‘Big School’.
“What can I, as a
parent, do to make sure that my kids have the very best education?”
You see, preparing your kids for school is so much
more than having them academically ready. Teachers are here to teach them the
academics, parents are here to teach them that and everything in between!
In fact, there are four main areas of development
that kids need to master before stepping into their first ...
